Mount with two 1/4" fine thread screws or bolts and washers (under the bolt or screwhead). Do not over-tighten, as the rubber just spreads.
The strap can be mounted with it facing in any direction.
To clamp: put a tool or implement into the jaws and push the strap to the desired tightness.
If you mount two clamps back to back, use two bolts with washers under the bolt head and nut. If the tool or equipment is to be held vertically, then one clamp must be at a 90° angle, and therefore use only one bolt adding a “star” washer between the clamps (this minimizes the clamp turning).
